Naomi Fraser is going into her fourth year at UTSC, majoring in mental health studies and minoring in studio and women and gender studies. She had experience in doing video editing as a hobby whether it was small fan edits, to motion graphics and minor animation. She loves video editing and have not been able to do it for a while until she took Midi’s class and participated in this project. She likes to edit videos because it gives her the freedom to create something completely different and new from a different perspective. She is only minoring in studio so that she gets the opportunity to edit more often. She would love to, if possible, be able to do digital marketing on the side of her main career. Editing for her is a different side of story telling that is more vast than filming itself. Editing is story making.

Why did you get involved in this project?
I got involved in this project because I have a passion for video editing as a hobby and genuinely love putting pieces together.
Did the one week turn-around for the work help or hinder your creativity?
I found the one week turn around helped my creativity as it made me have to work within a realistic time frame, as well as it made me have my creativity just flow.
How did you feel about working on a project where you didn’t know who you were collaborating with?
I liked this idea it felt as if I had a lot more creative freedom.
Has being involved in the project changed your thoughts on creativity?
I feel like being involved in this project has expanded my creativity and widened my boundaries.
