Why did you get involved in this project?
I have a lot of story ideas that I don’t feel I have time to execute myself. I was excited to have the opportunity to see those stories get told in collaboration with other creatives. It helped that Midi handled all the coordination!
Did the one week turn-around for the work help or hinder your creativity?
As the writer, I did not feel this time-crunch.
How did you feel about working on a project where you didn’t know who you were collaborating with?
It was exciting! I kept my expectations open and was blown away by the result of multiple different creative minds working on the project. It turned out different than I expected, and I’m so glad.
Has being involved in the project changed your thoughts on creativity?
I love creative collaboration, and I have worked on other ‘exquisite corpses’ with my visual art friends. I have never been involved in anything like this in a video context before, and it was exciting to see how the different components of the project could be divided and produce a similar exquisite corpse result. I loved it! I wonder if the same could be applied to other creative projects in ways I haven’t tried yet…
If you worked on several videos, what kept you coming back for more and how many did you do?
I enjoyed the challenge of capturing a story within 19 words. It’s hard! And fun. I wrote for 2 videos.
